Vocational teachers from Kharkiv (Ukraine) participate in practical automotive training in Germany

In October 2025, five teachers from vocational and technical educational institutions of the Kharkiv Oblast (region in the north-east of Ukraine) underwent two weeks of offline training in Mainz, Germany, at a very modern car repair workshop.

The participants had successfully completed several online training courses in 2024–2025 (cf. post) before they were invited to Germany in order to put their theoretical knowledge in practice and improve their technical skills.

Mohamed Benamar, Master Automotive Mechatronics Technician and Craftperson without Borders, gave the five Ukrainian vocational teachers a hands-on training programme on the fields of:

  • Engine
  • Alternator
  • Starter motor
  • Air conditioning compressor
  • OBD engine diagnostics (on-board diagnostics)
  • Dialogue acceptance and customer communication
  • Smart Repair (bodywork repair)
  • Electrical measurements and multimeter applications
  • Bodywork and glazing – windscreen work
  • Light and headlight adjustment
  • Tyre and wheel technology

After their return to Ukraine, the Kharkiv Regional Council invited the participants to a meeting to discuss their experience.

The exchange of experience with international partners is extremely important for the restoration and development of vocational education in the Kharkiv region today. Our specialists had the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the working standards of European partners and not only acquired new skills but also received certificates confirming their qualifications.
